There is nothing so important as giving credit to the creator of a work you place on your website. Whether is be art, writing, photography, a quote...whatever. "Give credit where credit is due".

If you didn't create it, please say a thank you to the person who did or who furthered your creation. Usually folks are super nice about sharing if you simply ask or give them a mention as the creator of a work.

If you find a tidbit that you think you can't live without but don't know the true origin, at least say you didn't create the work and invite the true artisan to claim credit on your page or offer to remove the work if requested. I realize there are sites that offer all kinds of things they say are public domain, but often times in truth, they have been pirated. The safest and the right thing to do is to ask permission.

It could be your work you find on someone else's page one day and yes folks, without a mention or permission, it is stealing.

I have no idea of the creator of the twinkle stars background. I did not create it, but found it in a public domain gallery. I loved it and gave it a home here. If anyone wishes to claim it I will gladly acknowledge your creation or if necessary I will remove it. Thank you for it's use.

Although I modified a "swoosh" style background for my Links page, the original "swoosh" belongs to Joe Burns at HTML Goodies. He's a super guy and I have learned a great deal prusing his site in the wee hours. Thanks Joe!
